Parkwood Celebrates Christmas
December 5, 2020 - January 4, 2021
Parkwood National Historic Site was home to one of the country’s foremost industrialists Canadian auto baron and founder of General Motors of Canada, Mr. R.S. McLaughlin. Inspired by early 20th century Beaux-Arts design, this 15,000 square foot, 55-room mansion, is even more breathtaking when adorned with ribbons, pine and floral arrangements during the holiday season.
Using historic period Christmas décor, the main floor of the mansion will into a Christmas wonderland. As an added treat, during this specialty tour you will have the chance to see the Butler’s Pantry, the Kitchen, and the Servant’s Dining Room while we share stories of how the service staff celebrated the holidays at Parkwood. During this tour you will also have the chance to take photographs in certain rooms. Join us on this special holiday tour and support local preservation efforts while starting a new holiday tradition with loved ones!
