Preserving Beauty: Peonies and Delphiniums

Hazel Cook’s seminar on drying these regal flowers is sure to captivate your interest. Discover how easy it is to preserve peonies, delphiniums and other flowers from your garden to form the basis of everlasting arrangements. Help keep the colours and warmth of summer alive in your home throughout the year. See a demonstration of drying techniques using silica and air drying, as well as learn tips for storing and arranging your blooms.
The Speakers:
Joe and Hazel Cook with their daughter Amy have owned and operated the Blossom Hill Nursery, in Peterborough, since 1994. The nursery specializes in the hybridization and propagation of British Delphinium elatum and an extensive peony collection of over 400 varieties. The property includes perennial display gardens, as well as 2,000 peonies and trial beds in the field for over 1,500 delphiniums. Last year Hazel’s large double yellow intersectional named, Bartzella, won the Grand Championship at the Canadian Peony Society Convention at the Montreal Botanical Gardens.
